A single 5 mg kg⁻¹ dose of AKAP‑212 reduced thigh bacterial burden by >3 log₁₀ CFU g⁻¹ compared with PBS (p < 0.001). No adverse weight loss or overt toxicity was observed. Pharmacokinetic profiling showed a plasma half‑life of ~1 h with detectable peptide concentrations (>2 µg mL⁻¹) for up to 8 h, sufficient to maintain concentrations above the MIC in the infection site.
