Bage Jannat ⚡ ❲UPDATED❳

The historical cemetery in Medina where many members of the Prophet's family are buried. It is often referred to as a "Garden of Paradise" on Earth.

Located on the eastern shore of Dal Lake, near the foothills of the Zabarwan range, this garden was designed as a terrestrial mirror of the celestial gardens described in the Quran. Unlike the later, more famous Shalimar Bagh and Nishat Bagh, the original Bage Jannat was smaller and more intimate. Tragically, the original structure—once filled with chinar trees, flowing fountains, and marble pavilions (baradaris)—does not survive in its complete Mughal form. Over centuries, earthquakes, neglect, and urban development eroded the original layout. Today, the site is occupied by a modern garden and a golf course, but the name persists as a nostalgic memory of lost grandeur. bage jannat
