This is a fair question. Newer software would show: "Please enter a value to scan." Cheat Engine, being deeply technical and sometimes rough around the edges, throws this low-level scanner thread error instead. It’s essentially the scanner hitting a where a numerical value should be.

If the error persists, open Task Manager , right-click Cheat Engine, go to Details , right-click the process again, select Set Affinity , and try unchecking all but one CPU core to stabilize the scan thread. open Task Manager
