The story ends in tragedy. In 1972, in a London flat, Antony Baekeland stabbed his mother to death with a kitchen knife. He was found not guilty by reason of insanity and institutionalized. Tragically, after being released into his father's care, Antony stabbed his grandmother to death and was permanently institutionalized. He eventually committed suicide in Broadmoor Hospital in 1981.
