Tamasha follows Ved Vardhan Sahni (Ranbir Kapoor), a man who suppresses his true self to fit social expectations, and Tara Maheshwari (Deepika Padukone), who meets him while traveling in Corsica. Their brief, liberating encounter awakens Ved’s suppressed passion and creativity. Years later, Tara discovers Ved living a conventional life; she tries to help him rediscover his authentic identity.
