ASTM A6 is the American standard for general requirements for rolled steel shapes. Both cover similar ground (dimensions, mass, tolerances), but the numbers differ. An H-beam meeting JIS G 3193 may not automatically meet ASTM A6 without conversion. Always specify the governing standard.
