Batalli’s answer is subtle. He does not offer revenge or easy resolution. Instead, the “blue dawns” represent a fragile, recurring possibility: that each new day, no matter how painful, is a chance to rebuild. The novel ends not with triumph but with survival — and survival, in Batalli’s view, is the deepest form of resistance.
