You will not find a stable, fully functional OpenWrt build for the Tenda AC8. If you flash an experimental build, you will likely lose hardware acceleration and Wi-Fi drivers. Stick with official Tenda AC8 firmware for this model. If you want open-source, buy a router from the OpenWrt Table of Hardware (e.g., TP-Link Archer C7 or Xiaomi AX3600).
